二、课程性质、教学目的和要求

 （一）课程性质和目的

本课程是为已经修完大学英语和物流管理基础课程的物流管理专业高年级学生开出的选修课。本课程的目的是帮助物流管理专业学生在英语环境中学习和掌握物流管理专业基础知识和它们的英语表达，使学生具备阅读、理解英语原版资料的能力，为今后在工作中能使用专业英语进行交流打下基础。

（二）教学方法与手段

采用课堂英语教学，选用英语原版参考书。教师讲授与学生讨论相结合。重视培养学生对物流专业知识的英语阅读理解、听力理解和口头表达的能力。

Part 4: Benchmarking the supply chain（3 hours）

Key Points：What to benchmark? Benchmarking the logistics process；Supplier and distributor benchmarking；Mapping supply chain processes

Part 5: Managing the global pipeline（3 hours）

Key Points: The trend towards globalization in the supply chain；The challenge of global logistics；Organizing for global logistics

Part 6: Strategic lead-time management（3 hours）

Key Points: Time-based competition；The concept of lead time；Logistics pipeline management

Part 7: Just-in-time and ‘quick response’ logistics（3 hours）

    考核方式：英语论文和课堂陈述、讨论

    成绩评定标准：平时成绩30%，口头陈述和讨论：30%，论文：40%。
